Gareth Jones

Dorchester South Councillor for Dorchester Town Council

Gareth has lived in Dorchester for 35 years, bringing up three daughters and working in engineering and economic development. 

He has been a Town Councillor since 2011, including a year as Mayor in 2021/22. 

Gareth says, "I am keen to help our community face challenges such as the provision of affordable housing, and availability of varied employment opportunities.  As Chair of the Heritage Committee, I look forward to being able to continue its work of supporting local heritage projects, and raising the profile of our town's diverse heritage for the benefit of our community and the tourism economy."
