Roland Tarr

Roland Tarr’s family has lived in West Dorset for five generations.  

His main occupation was founding the Dorset Heritage Coast, now the Jurassic Coast. Roland worked for Dorset County Council with local parish councils, residents, farmers and landowners, including the National Trust, to establish national and international recognition.

“I am passionate about boosting the rural economy, supporting village enterprises such as pubs and shops and other outlets,” says Roland. “I ran a consultancy for ten years advising councils on promoting rural enterprises and rural tourism appropriate to the South West of England.I also taught part time at Thomas Hardye School for ten years (IT and modern languages).”
