Introducing Your Lib Dem Candidate: Edward Morello
West Dorset Lib Dems have selected Edward Morello to be our candidate at the next General Election.
Edward was born in the West Country, and he now lives in Bridport with his family. He is a committed community campaigner, having also fought the last election in West Dorset.
When Edward stood here in 2019, the Lib Dem vote increased by more than 8 percentage points, reaching its highest level in almost ten years.
Edward works in the renewable energy sector, and so he has the knowledge and experience to help fight the climate emergency.
Commenting on his selection, Edward said:
“It is truly an honour to be re- selected to stand in West Dorset again. I’m ready to be a strong voice or local people in Westminster, to ensure that West Dorset gets the Fair Deal that it deserves.”
Cllr Dave Rickard, Lib Dem Leader of Bridport Town Council added: “Edward is truly committed to making Bridport a better place to live. He will listen to and stand up for our residents, and make sure that we are not taken for granted anymore.”
Edward concluded: “I’m looking forward to speaking to local people and putting my case forward.”
“So many people across West Dorset have already told me that they’re tired of Conservative mismanagement, both at County Hall and in Westminster. Change is needed here, and I hope that local people will put their trust in me to deliver that change for West Dorset.”
