Speaking in the Second Reading debate of the Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Bill in the House of Commons, Paul Holmes, Liberal Democrat MP for Chesterfield, said:
The online petition for the Gurkha Justice campaign (http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/gurkha/) has taken over 700 signatures in just 5 days, making it one of the fastest signed petitions on the Governments Petition web site. With over 1,100 petitions on the site, the Gurkha Justice petition is already in the top 50 most signed petitions.
Tony Blair has become the first ever serving Prime Minister to have been interviewed by police. The police are investigating cash for honours allegations. The probe was sparked by revelations Labour was given secret loans ahead of last year's election, some donors were subsequently nominated for honours.
