It has come to our attention that some wheelie bins left out the evening before bin collection day are being wheeled away during the early hours of the morning in other parts of the city - This could easily spread to Belgrave.

Congestion Charging on the agenda!

The reality of Congestion Charging will be more of reality after Friday, when Leader of Rochdale Borough Council will discuss it at a meeting of AGMA (Association of Greater Manchester Authorities) The idea of Congestion Charging has been inevitable since the announcement of the partial successful bid to deliver the Metrolink to Rochdale. Government Bosses then announced that Greater Manchester could bid for a £400 Million slice of the Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) to complete the spur into places like Rochdale Town Centre.

Bowel cancer drug appeal rejected

Campaigners have lost an appeal to make a bowel cancer drug widely available on the NHS. Charities Cancer backup and Bowel Cancer UK appealed against a decision by the health watchdog to reject the drug Erbitux (cetuximab) for use on the NHS. The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (Nice) ruled last August that Erbitux was not cost-effective.

Most support voluntary euthanasia

Eight out of ten of people support a law change to allow doctors to actively end the lives of terminally ill patients who want to die, a poll shows. However only 60% supported doctors prescribing, but not administering, drugs someone could use to end their own life. The British Social Attitudes report surveyed 3,000 people.
