Adding antibiotics to standard drug therapy may slow down the progress of multiple sclerosis, research suggests. Patients showed fewer symptoms, and fewer signs of tissue damage when they took the antibiotic doxycycline alongside the MS drug beta interferon.
Elderly people in England are to be given cash to fund their own social care, the health secretary has said.
Commenting on reports that the Government is planning on giving elderly people grants to pay for their own care, Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary, Norman Lamb MP said:

The closure of 5 MORE post offices, now means that the Post Office has closed 15 throughout Shepway since 1999, including the Crown Post Office in Folkestone, which is due to close in March 2008.
