Park Ward's Liberal Democrat candidate, Claire Darke has sent a letter to voters in the Ward expressing her worries about the Government's Bill on climate charge. The text of the letter is below.
Royal Mail has said that there will be no post for a week from 4 October following a series of strikes by the Communication Workers' Union (CWU) over pay, pensions and modernisation. The The 48 hour strike starting yesterday at noon will be followed by another two-day stoppage from 3am on Monday.

The BBC reports that a British Army soldier has been killed and two others injured in an explosion in southern Afghanistan. The soldiers, serving with the 1st Battalion The Royal Gurkha Rifles were returning to base at Kandahar Airfield when the blast happened.
