Multiple sclerosis charities have said they are "bitterly disappointed" at a decision not to prescribe an anti-MS drug in Scotland. Both the MS Society and the MS Trust believe the drug Tysabri could help slow the progression of disability in hundreds of sufferers. But the Scottish Medicines Consortium said the economic case for the drug had not been demonstrated. The charities urged sufferers to fight for Tysabri on an individual basis.
The Liberal Democrats took their "Say No to Police Cuts" campaign to Folkestone town Centre today and collected hundreds of signatures against the proposed removing of 35 police officers from the South Kent area. At the Second Reading of the Offender Management Bill, Liberal Democrat Shadow Home Secretary, Nick Clegg MP accused the Government of failing to tackle the real causes behind the shocking rates of reoffending. Nick Clegg MP said "Tackling reoffending rates is vital but this Bill is not the way to do it."

Cornish MPs are furious over Government plans to close 1000s of post offices to save money. Between 2,500-3000 post offices, primarily in rural areas, face closure following the Department of Trade & Industry's decision that the current network is unsustainable.
