Local MP, Matthew Taylor, has met the Chief Constable, Maria Wallis, to urge her to maintain local community policing. The meeting follows news that the introduction of several hundred Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) could mean fewer actual Police Officers acting as beat officers.
At its meeting on the 10th April the Mid Sussex District Council Cabinet threw out the recommendations by officers and its own Policy Better Lives Advisory Policy group and rejected the view that Developers should fund up to 40% of affordable houses in the Mid Sussex Area.
Local MP Tim Farron visited Sedbergh Auction Mart on Saturday following the announcement that the Mart will close. Tim met with a number of farmers and concerned Mart users, many of whom are keen to keep the facility open and operating.

Tony Impey, a user of the Coronary Care Unit and patient representative on the Cardiac Rehabilitation Group for Morecambe Bay, has organised this campaign.
Labour Councillor Ann Holtom has today left the Labour party to join the Liberal Democrats. Councillor Holtom who represents the Tyburn Ward will take the number of Councillors on the City Council's Liberal Democrats group to 33, up from 28 just ten months ago making it the growing party in Birmingham!
