Lib Dem MP asks Gordon Brown to call for a review of the way in which means testing hits school crossing wardens.

Across the Country children are at risk crossing the road because of Gordon Brown's means testing according to Birmingham Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming. "I have problems in my constituency", he said "where we cannot fill vacancies for crossing wardens because the wardens lose too much of their means tested benefits if they earn £40 per week. Wardens can end up with only £5 in their pocket."

Conservatives admit they can't win in Park ward

This week's Wolverhampton Chronicle has a letter from former Conservative Councillor Neville Patten. In his letter Mr. Patten admits that the Conservatives cannot win in Park ward. Mr. Patten states that the ward is such that it is "impossible for any conservative candidate to win".
