The Liberal Democrat Spokeswoman for Women and Equality, Lorely Burt MP, has tabled an Early Day Motion in response to the use of the word 'gay' by as a term of derision on BBC radio. Her EDM has already attracted cross-party support from Liberal Democrat, Labour and Conservative MPs.

Stephen Williams addresses EuroPride rally

Liberal Democrat Education Spokesperson, Stephen Williams MP spoke at the EuroPride rally on the subject of homophobic bullying in our schools. He criticised the BBC Governors' decision that deemed the use of the word 'gay' by Chris Moyles to mean 'lame' or 'rubbish' was perfectly acceptable.

The final three candidates for the next Conservative PPC for Folkestone and Hythe are reported to be Harriett Baldwin (stood and lost in Stockton North in North East England in 2005), Laura Sandys (Political Consultant) and Damian Collins (stood and lost in Northampton North in the East Midlands in 2005).

Dundee Liberal Democrats have today (Sunday 2nd July) welcomed news that, if Thursday's by-election result in Bromley and Chislehurst was replicated in Dundee West at the next Westminster General Election, the Liberal Democrats would win the seat.
